Died peacefully on February 8, 2015, at Ngaio Marsh Retirement Village, aged 92, surrounded by his family. Beloved and cherished husband of the late Diny, father and father-in-law of Maria, Bill and Halina, Leo and Jane; Opa of Laura, Anna and Benjamin; dear friend of Janina; loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and godfather of his extended family in the Netherlands. Thanks to the staff of Ngaio Marsh Retirement Village for their loving care of Charles during his last year. No flowers by request but donations to St John Ambulance and a prayer for Charles would be appreciated. Rust in zacht. The Requiem Mass for Charles will be celebrated in St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Manchester Street, Wednesday, February 2, at 10.30am. Private cremation thereafter.
