On Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Christchurch Hospital, aged 89 years. Loved husband of the late Mary. Loved father of Mark (Sydney); Anne (Sydney); and Therese (Christchurch). Loved Grandfather of Lara, and Courtney (Sydney); and Jessica (Christchurch). Loved brother and brother-in-law of the late Margaret and the late Bob Field and brother-in-law of Mark (Toronto), Felice (Lower Hutt), and the late Kathleen and their families.

The Funeral Mass for Des will be held in The Christ The King Catholic Church, 90 Greers Road, Burnside, Christchurch, on Tuesday, November 28, at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation. The Rosary service will be held on Monday, November 27 at 7.00pm in the church.
